Jewel was born to a traveling band of gypsies… Well, not exactly, but if you didn’t know any better, you might think that was the case. Born in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, she feasted with Bedouins, rode on the back of a Thai elephant, and swam in the Gulf of Siam, all by the time she was 6 months old. It was an auspicious start to the life of this world traveler.
After stints in Bethesda, MD and St. Louis, MO, Jewel returned to the desert at the age of 9. She attended grades 4-9 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, high school in Southborough, MA, and college in Tacoma, WA. After earning her B.A. in Theatre (Honors) and her minor in Creative Writing at the University of Puget Sound, she moved back to MD to begin her acting career. Jewel began as an intern at Woolly Mammoth and worked steadily in theatre, commercials, industrials, voiceovers and films for the last few years. She arrived in Los Angeles in January, 2009 and feels like she’s finally found her home in the wide, wonderful world.
